The Challenge
In October 2025, the annual Endocrinology Congress once again took place at its long-established venue – Grand Hotel Plovdiv, a location that the endocrinology community associates with many years of professional tradition.
However, a change in the leadership of the Bulgarian Society of Endocrinology brought a new and ambitious vision: to open the congress to a wider community of medical specialists. This resulted in a significant increase in the number of participants, including a strong presence of young doctors.
The challenge was clear:
how to accommodate the growing interest while preserving the tradition of hosting the event at Grand Hotel Plovdiv – a venue to which the endocrinology community feels deeply connected.
The Solution
Instead of relocating the congress to a different venue, we focused on creative solutions that would expand the capacity of the existing space.
Working in close collaboration with the organizers, we developed a plan that included:
- securing additional hotels to accommodate the increased number of participants
- expanding the functional event spaces within Grand Hotel Plovdiv
- installing additional tents in the hotel’s outdoor areas to host part of the congress activities
- building a dedicated tented space with a stage in the garden for the closing dinner and the official congress ceremony
This approach allowed us not only to preserve the traditional venue, but also to create new functional and social spaces for the participants.
Open communication and mutual trust between our team and the organizers were key to the success of the project. The Result
The congress became one of the most successful editions to date.
- record number of participants – 700
- a highly diverse and engaging scientific programme
- strong participation from young medical professionals
- excellent feedback from attendees
Despite the increased scale of the event, the atmosphere remained welcoming, professional, and comfortable. Participants felt well taken care of and had ideal conditions for both scientific exchange and professional networking.
This event demonstrated that when tradition matters, the right approach is not to replace it—but to discover new possibilities within it.
