Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Executive Board of the Bulgarian Society of Endocrinology and on my own behalf, I have the pleasure of inviting you to participate in the 21st National Symposium on Endocrinology, which will be held from October 8–11, 2026, at the Grand Hotel Plovdiv.
The focus of this year’s edition is: “The Endocrine System and the Environment.”
It is time to discuss the profound impact of the environment in which we live, work, raise our children, grow old, and ultimately pass away, on the internal balance of our bodies. An important mediator of this influence is the endocrine system. Hormones and receptors transmit signals from the external environment to our cells, tissues, and organs. These signals may be physiological, stimulating growth, development, and survival. In other cases, they are pathogenic, straining or even overwhelming the body’s adaptive capacities and leading to the development of disease.
We will explore how these signals alter the synthesis, regulation, transport, and action of hormones, and what the consequences are for human health.
With best regards,
Assoc. Prof. Alexander Shinkov
Chair of the Symposium Organizing Committee
